A cat does not need a dinner-plate of surface area — it needs one portion of wet food spread thin enough to take a few minutes instead of thirty seconds. A big mat for a cat just means more washing up.

Being light and flat, it goes where the others do not: in a cat carrier on the way to the vet, in a crate, into a bag for a weekend away. A carrier with something good to lick in it is a different experience for a cat than a carrier with nothing in it, and that is worth having.

It is also the honest answer for a cat that eats too fast and brings its food straight back up a minute later. Spreading the same meal across a textured pad usually stops that without changing the food.

As with every silicone mat, this is a licking surface and not a chew toy. A pet that bites chunks out of it should not have it unsupervised.

Sized for one portion — right for a cat or a small dog

Light at around 100 g, so it travels

Fits in a carrier or crate

Food-grade silicone, dishwasher safe

Freezes for a longer-lasting treat

Helps a cat that eats too fast and brings it back up

At a glance

Pawbrio product guide

At a glance

Detail

Info

Material

Food-grade silicone

Shape

Round, sunflower

Weight

About 100 g

Best for

Cats and small dogs

Cleaning

Dishwasher safe

Suction cups

No

Which of our mats: This one for a cat or a little dog, and for taking with you.
