A great many "GPS pet trackers" sold online are Bluetooth tags that only find your pet when a phone happens to be near them — fine for a collar lost behind the sofa, useless when a dog has gone over a hedge. The manufacturer's own materials for this one name GPS and Beidou satellite positioning, AGPS, and wireless network base station positioning. That combination is what lets it report a location you can drive to, including in built-up areas where satellite signal alone struggles.

It is IPX6 rated, so rain and a swim are not a problem, and the collar runs to 25 inches, covering pets from roughly 8lb to 120lb — a cat through to a large dog.

Read this before you order. A SIM card must be fitted. The manufacturer states it plainly, and it is how every genuine GPS tracker works: satellites tell the device where it is, and a mobile connection is what tells you. There is no SIM or data plan included here, and no monthly fee to us — you arrange the SIM. If that is not what you wanted, a Bluetooth finder tag is the simpler option, it just will not work beyond phone range.

Choose the Europe & Asia version for the UK. The North America version is built for different mobile networks. We have left it on the listing for completeness, but it is not the one to buy here.

Two more honest points: the manufacturer publishes no battery life figure, no accuracy figure in metres, and does not name the companion app in any of its materials. We are not going to invent any of them. If any of those three decide it for you, ask us first and we will tell you exactly what we know before you spend the money.

GPS and Beidou satellite positioning, with AGPS and base station assistance

Works at distance — not a Bluetooth finder

IPX6 waterproof — rain and swimming are fine

Collar adjusts up to 25 inches, suits pets from about 8lb to 120lb

Europe & Asia version for UK networks

SIM card required and not included

At a glance

Pawbrio product guide

At a glance

Detail

Info

Positioning

GPS, Beidou, AGPS, base station

SIM card

Required, not included

Waterproofing

IPX6

Collar length

Up to 25 inches

Pet size

About 8lb to 120lb

UK version

Europe & Asia

GPS or Bluetooth — how to tell: If a tracker runs for six months to a year on a small button cell, it is Bluetooth, and it finds things within a room. Then test it properly before you rely on it: walk to the end of your road and check the position that comes back, then try somewhere with poorer signal, so you learn how it behaves in your area rather than finding out on the worst possible day. Fit the collar snugly — two fingers underneath — and check it again after your pet has worn it for a day.

Using it safely

A tracker does not replace a collar tag or a microchip. In the UK your dog must legally wear an ID tag in public and be microchipped, whatever else is on the collar. Use a quick-release safety collar for cats so they cannot be caught on a fence or branch. Do not rely on a single position reading when you are searching — accuracy varies with tree cover, buildings and weather, so treat it as a starting point and work outwards. Keep an eye on the charge; a flat tracker is worse than none, because you stop checking the collar. Keep the charging cable away from chewers.

Care guide

Rinse with clean fresh water after the sea, a river or deep mud, and dry it fully before charging — IPX6 protects against water jets, not against charging a wet port. Wipe the contacts each time. Recharge before it empties rather than running it flat, which is kinder to the battery over months. Check the collar fixing monthly; the strap usually gives out long before the tracker does.

Delivery & returns

Free tracked UK delivery on every Pawbrio order.
