Choosing a dog pen

Choose panel height by the dog: 60cm suits puppies and small breeds, 80–100cm is needed for dogs that jump. Metal panel pens are the most robust and can be shaped to fit a room or a corner. Fabric pens are lighter for travel and gardens.

Look for a door panel so you are not lifting the dog in and out, and a floor mat or tray for puppies that are not yet house-trained. Panels can usually be bought in extra packs to make a larger pen or an outdoor run.
