This 4 litre automatic pet feeder comes in two versions — wi-fi with the Tuya app, or wi-fi with a camera — both with an anti-clog push channel and a sealed freshness lock.

Why we picked it

Jamming is what kills timer feeders, and this one tackles it mechanically rather than with a slogan: a forced push grain channel physically drives kibble through rather than relying on it falling. Combined with the sealed freshness lock and a desiccant box built into the lid, that covers the two failure modes that account for most feeder complaints — blocked chutes and stale food at the bottom of the hopper.

Both versions run from the mains or batteries, so a power cut does not mean a missed meal, and the tank detaches for washing, which is what makes the difference between a feeder you clean properly and one you rinse and hope.

About the app. The supplier calls it the "Graffiti" app, which is a mistranslation — it is Tuya, a large and well-maintained smart home platform that runs millions of devices. That is reassuring rather than otherwise: it means the app is actively supported, not an abandoned one-product affair.

Choosing a version. WiFi gives you the Tuya app for remote dispensing and a feeding record — feed them early from the office, and check a meal actually went out. WiFi + Camera adds a camera with video voice chat and device sharing, so more than one person in the household can look in. Both come in black or white.

If you would rather not put another device on your wi-fi at all, our 4L timer feeder does six meals a day with battery backup and no app whatsoever, for less.

Two honest things. The manufacturer's own images give inconsistent meal limits — 1 to 9 meals on the variant cards, and 1 to 10 on another sheet entirely. We have listed the variant card figure below, but treat it as approximate until you have the unit in front of you. And the camera is described only as "200 HD pixels", which is not a meaningful resolution specification, so we are not going to translate it into one.

  • 4 litre hopper on both versions
  • Forced push grain channel — anti-clog by design, not by claim
  • Sealed freshness lock with a desiccant box built into the lid
  • Detachable tank for proper washing
  • Mains or battery — keeps feeding through a power cut
  • Tuya app on both versions, black or white

What's in the box

  • 1 x automatic pet feeder in your chosen version
  • 1 x instruction manual

Setting up

Wash and fully dry the detachable tank and bowl before the first fill — damp parts clump kibble, and clumped kibble is what jams a feeder. Install the Tuya app and pair the feeder standing where it will actually live rather than beside the router, so a weak signal shows up now. Set your schedule, run a manual feed, and weigh what lands in the bowl against what you asked for. Do that for two or three days before relying on it.

Using it safely

Dry kibble only — wet food will not dispense and will spoil in the hopper. Keep the lid latched and the feeder against a wall where it cannot be tipped. Do not treat an app as a substitute for someone checking in: it will tell you a meal was sent, not that your pet ate it, and it cannot clear a blockage. For anything beyond a couple of days, arrange for a person to look in. If your pet is on a prescription or weight-management diet, agree portions with your vet. Use a strong unique password on the Tuya account.

Care guide

Take the tank off and wash it, with the bowl and chute, at least monthly, ideally when nearly empty — and dry everything completely before refilling, because damp is the main cause of jamming. Replace the desiccant in the lid box when it stops feeling dry. Brush kibble dust out of the push channel between cleans; it accumulates and slows the flow long before it blocks. Empty the hopper fully once a month rather than topping up endlessly, so old kibble does not sit at the bottom. Wipe the camera lens with a dry microfibre cloth.

FAQs

What is the "Graffiti" app?

A mistranslation of Tuya, which is a large and well-supported smart home platform used by a great many devices. You install Tuya Smart, not anything called Graffiti.

Which version should I choose?

WiFi for remote feeding and a record of meals. WiFi + Camera if you want to see and talk to your pet. Both hold 4 litres and come in black or white.

How good is the camera?

The manufacturer only says "200 HD pixels", which is not a real resolution figure, so we will not translate it into one. Treat it as adequate for checking on a pet rather than as a security camera.

Does it keep feeding in a power cut?

Yes — both versions take batteries as well as mains. The manufacturer does not state how many or what type, so check the manual when it arrives.

I don't want another device on my wi-fi. Is there an option?

Yes — our 4L timer feeder is self-contained, does six meals a day with battery backup, and costs less.

Can I use wet food?

No. Dry kibble only.
